The Problem
Many powders will not flow when left in hoppers and silos because the air has dissipated. A common option is to use vibration, but this may create noise, construction fatigue and may even compact the material further.
The Solution
Our Sonopulse discharge system has been developed for effective loosening and re-aeration of powders in silos. Sonopulse comprise a series of large fluidising panels which become a large slippery surface when air is introduced, for the powder to slide down. They are installed inside the silo and fed with a pulsating air supply via a specially designed Pulsator. The pulsator conditions the air into a square wave pulse and uses low frequency sound waves (not audible by the human ear) to penetrate into the powder and promote flow. The sound waves are effectively vibration which dislodges the powder particles making fluidising highly effective.
SonoPulse has been used to dump powders quickly for filling a road tanker in 4 minutes, or it may be used to provide a controlled and consistent feed into process applications even when low rates are desired.
Common materials handles are Cement, Lime, Fly ash, Gypsum, Plaster, Stucco, Flour, Clay, Calcium Carbonate, Magnesium Oxide and Titanium Dioxide.
